You can't wait for the end of the workday to jump on your bike and enjoy the last rays of sunshine. Equipped from head to toe, you have a kit for every occasion.
Whether you ride the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit, the lakeshore or Gatineau Park, the evening is perfect. On the other hand, the return home is always a bit more difficult.
The sun sets so you take off your sunglasses and then, the flies on the CGV or the seaway get in your eyes forcing you to slow down.
For cyclists who work during the day, riding during evenings in changing light conditions is a challenge. Early evening, the dark lens does a great job but then, when the sun sets, it's not so good anymore. You have to take off your glasses to see the road. Therefore, Your eyes are no longer protected from flies, small rocks, branches and other road hazards.
Night after night, you expose your eyes to the multiple dangers of the road or the trails.
It's almost like you should have one pair of glasses for the weekend and one for weeknights. Or leave with a clear lens in your pocket and once the sun goes down, change glasses.
The solution
The solution is to wear Photochromic lenses. Not very popular because of their boring style, they are however the ultimate accessory to have when cycling on weeknights.
Photochromic lenses react to direct sunlight by darkening more or less, protecting you from glare, UV rays, wind, objects, flies, rain, etc.
In addition, once the sun goes down, you benefit from an almost transparent glass, allowing you to see the road well while remaining protected.
Note that the lens protects against UV rays regardless of the intensity of the tint.
Photochromic lenses are generally offered by all popular brands of sports glasses.
